On November 7th, 1989,  I typed FADE OUT on the last page of the script for RADIO FLYER.  This was three years after I had graduated from college with a cargo-container load of student loan debt, and on that day I had exactly $5.40 in the bank.  A week later the script sold to a major Hollywood studio and set a world record for a spec-script sale.

Perserverance.  Determination.  Discipline.  Attitude.  Faith.

Those are the things I like to speak about.  My format involves an introduction, clips from my films, stories about how I got them made and a Q&A.
